Committees have an oversight and policy development function within their respective scope of work. These are to:

• Ensure directions and plans are in line with the BWF Strategic Plan;
• Monitor and evaluate programmes and projects and track progress against plans;
• Oversee the activities of Commissions and Working Groups related to the Committee’s work;
• Make recommendations to the Council for the adoption of policies, strategies and regulations; and
• Report on any decisions taken by the Committee in areas or projects as delegated by Council.

The membership and Terms of Reference for each Committee is determined by Council. Committees are made up only of Council members of Council, whereas BWF Commissions can have external expertise as members. The Terms of Reference for each Committee is found in Appendix 2 of the Federation Rules and Procedures (Statutes – Section 1.2.2 – linked here).

Marketing and Communications Committee

Ensure that the strategic direction and management of the external agencies working with the BWF are maintained at all times in order to continually enhance commercial partnerships to grow the properties, maintain and grow existing partnerships and maximize revenue opportunities with the highest levels of profitability.

Ensure regular and effective internal and external communication on all matters related to the sport – fans, Member Association, badminton players, the sports institutional world, media and general public.

Finance, Audit and Rick Committee
